AWARD-WINNING
Micro machining centre
Our company was honoured twice in October 2023 in the space of just a few days.

This is the heading
Climate Protection Prize of the District of Constance: ZORN microone won in the energy efficiency category.

This is the heading
Environmental Technology Award of the State of Baden-Württemberg in the Energy Efficiency category: ZORN microone took 3rd place. Place out of a total of 123 applications submitted.

FURTHER
Processing methods
As a classic micro machining centre, the ZORN microone also plans to integrate other machining methods in its further development. The high-performance spindle currently in use can then be replaced by a laser optics or dosing unit, for example, so that laser welding, labelling, gluing or other dosing and testing tasks may also be possible areas of application.

Short distances
With all tool holder variants, the tools are always moved along the main axis and changed as close as possible to the workbench. The short distances and length measurement directly at the workbench are a great advantage here.
Automation
A ONE-STOP SOLUTION
During the development of the ZORN microone, care was taken to prepare everything for future automation. We can draw on our wealth of experience of almost 40 years in special machine construction, especially when it comes to handling small components.
- No coordination & scheduling problems
- No external providers
- Customised solutions are our strength
- We automate & equip your new machining centre according to your wishes
- Turnkey projects or just small requests - we are open to everything

APPLICATIONS OF LASER PROCESSING
Applications such as laser cutting, laser welding or other alternative uses, e.g. as a 3D dosing system or similar, are possible with all the degrees of freedom of a modern processing centre.
Parts feeding, storage and/or visual component measurement can be integrated according to your requirements.
Control technology
The drive-based CNC from Siemens/Fanuc belongs to the premium class and supports the microone machine concept through maximum performance.

Automation
As a rule, the automation module is used as a feeding and removal device. Several variants of feeding technology are available for this purpose. Alternatively, or in addition to this use, other manufacturing processes can be integrated in order to link other modules instead of other microones.
Modularity
"IN MINIATURE"
“Plug and Play” not only the technology, but also for transport, the microone fits through any standard door without dismantling. The modularity of the actual processing unit makes it possible to design an ergonomic seated workstation. The supply unit is installed to the side or moved to the rear to obtain sufficient legroom .
Supply unit
The power supply module houses the power supply with control unit and all other auxiliary units.
Two side-mounted control cabinets contain both the electrical supply and the water-cooling unit for the axes and spindle. The minimum quantity lubrication system and the pneumatic system are installed in the centre section. All supply lines are installed bundled between the processing level and the supply unit.
An optional air bearing between the two modules for protecting the working plane from external vibrations is possible. Two drawers are provided in this space for both the keyboard and for tools, for example.
Processing unit
The processing module can be positioned as required (max. cable length must be considered). It can also be integrated into assembly systems while the supply module remains outside.Supply unit

SPACE-WAVING WONDER
Automation cell
The ZORN microone can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of requirements thanks to its compact design and separable modules.
Modular production cell
The modular production cell is customised to the size and design of the microone down to the last detail. The robot has maximum flexibility thanks to the ceiling mounting and can therefore reach out of the cell on all sides and operate up to three microones!

Smart automation example for loading and unloading a machine tool. This low-cost variant is without autonomous control and should only be selected for “smaller” tasks. This variant is typically used to automatically insert and remove products for processing. This can be in the form of prefabricated parts or as sections, bars or on pallets.

Chip conveyor
CHIP REMOVAL
The chip conveyor consists of a conveyor belt (blue in the picture) that covers the entire floor area. Deflector plates allow the chips to fall towards the floor. The chips fall into a screw conveyor attached to the side at the left-hand end of the chip conveyor. This transports the chips to the rear outside the machine. At the end of this auger is a chute through which the chips fall into a container provided.
Safety & Ergonomics
PRECISION THROUGH
Stability
The smaller the workpiece, the higher the demand for precision. The solid granite foundation absorbs all movements of the ZORN microone.
- Higher inherent rigidity
- More thermal stability
- More mechanical stability
- Maximum repeat accuracy

THAT INSPIRE
Ideal access and visibility to the workpiece allow efficient and effective machine operation. The workbench height, which allows even the smallest components to be easily seen and gripped, also contributes to this.
The generous access from two sides emphasises user-friendliness and therefore optimum visibility and accessibility.
